China North to South: Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu & Yangshuo — 14 Days

Fast-train route from Beijing through three centuries of archaeology, martial tradition, and karst countryside to Hong Kong

This 14-day passage moves south through mainland China along a corridor of high-speed rail, connecting four distinct regions and their defining historical claims. Beijing anchors the route with the Forbidden City and the scale of Tiananmen Square. Xi'an holds the Terracotta Warriors, the 2,000-year-old clay army discovered in 1976 still standing in formation beneath the earth. Shaolin Monastery, on the route between these cities, preserves the lineage of kung fu practice itself. Chengdu offers direct access to the Giant Panda Breeding Center and introduces Sichuan's spiced cuisine. The final leg lands you in Yangshuo, a rural limestone karst landscape where rural life, agriculture, and outdoor movement shape each day. The itinerary balances guided sightseeing with substantial free time in each city.

  • Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City (built 1406–1420), UNESCO-listed for its wooden architecture
