Delhi to Agra: Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri — One Day by Car
A single-day road circuit from Delhi covering three Mughal monuments across 200 km via the Yamuna Expressway
Departing Delhi before dawn, this one-day circuit by private car covers three of the Mughal Empire's most significant monuments along a 200-kilometre corridor to Agra and back. The Taj Mahal — an ivory white marble mausoleum built in 1632 on the right bank of the Yamuna River — is the first stop, visited with a dedicated guide who provides historical context on its construction under Emperor Shah Jahan. Agra Fort follows: a UNESCO World Heritage site built in 1573 that served as the primary Mughal imperial residence until 1638. The afternoon continues 20 kilometres west to Fatehpur Sikri, the sandstone city founded by Emperor Akbar in 1571 as the Mughal capital, occupied for just 14 years before being abandoned in 1585 and left largely intact. The return drive to Delhi covers the same expressway route, arriving in the evening. The day runs approximately 14 hours in total.
