Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return — 7 Days
High-altitude trekking to 5,360 meters via Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Lobuche, with helicopter descent to Kathmandu
This seven-day trek reaches Everest Base Camp at 5,360 meters and Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters—a compressed version of Nepal's classic two-week high-altitude trek. The route follows the standard trail through the Khumbu region, ascending from Lukla at 2,860 meters through established Sherpa settlements, Buddhist monasteries, and high alpine terrain. Trekkers pass through Namche Bazaar, the main trading hub for the region; Tengboche, home to a 1916 monastery with links to Rongbuk in Tibet; and Pangboche, site of one of the oldest gompas in the area. The trek crosses two major passes—Thokla at 4,830 meters and Lobuche at 5,110 meters—before reaching the base camp itself. The return includes a helicopter flight from Gorakshep to Kathmandu, avoiding the four-day descent. The trek is marked by clear views of the Mahalangur range peaks and encounters with the Sherpa communities who inhabit this high-altitude zone.
