Hehuanshan North Peak: 3,422m High Mountain Day Hike from Taichung

One day, two of Taiwan's Top 100 peaks, 3,000+ meters elevation, no permits required

Hehuanshan North Peak stands at 3,422 meters in the border region between Nantou and Hualien counties. This day tour departs from Taichung High-Speed Rail Station, covers approximately 5–6 kilometers of hiking across well-maintained trails, and offers a direct route to one of Taiwan's most accessible high-altitude experiences. The area is known for frequent sea of clouds, clear mountain air, and views across the ridge system. A bilingual guide leads the group on a moderate climb of roughly 500 meters of elevation gain over 4 kilometers (return), followed by optional ascents of two secondary peaks—Shimenshan or Hehuanshan Point—depending on time and fitness. Private van transportation, insurance, and guide services are included; the day typically concludes with a return to Taichung by early evening.
