Iriomote Waterfall Trek: Mayagusuku, Mariyudu & Kanbire — 8 Hours

A full-day inland trek through tropical rainforest to three remote waterfalls in Iriomote's least accessible region, suited for experienced hikers

This eight-hour trek penetrates Iriomote's interior rainforest to reach Mayagusuku waterfall, the island's most remote cascade. The route begins by boat from the estuary, then follows an unmarked path through dense forest, crossing streams and navigating boulder fields. Two secondary waterfalls — Mariyudu and Kanbire — break the descent. The trek requires sustained physical effort and the ability to move safely over uneven terrain; it is designed for hikers with solid stamina and prior multi-hour hiking experience. A private guide leads throughout, equipment is provided, and lunch is taken at the base of Mayagusuku waterfall.
