The first day establishes the route from Hatomachi-toge Pass through marshland and forest toward Yamanohana. Terrain is moderate on this initial segment. Wind exposure increases at altitude. From the summit, panoramic views extend across the marshes on the plateau and the volcanic mountains forming the surrounding landscape. The return route follows the ridge downward, descending back to Hatomachi-toge Pass to complete the circuit.
