1Private Pickup and Customized Water and Mountain Activities in North OkinawaMotobu, Nago, or Nakijin districts · Motobu peninsula · Yanbaru region · Katsuu Mountain · original pickup location · mangrove waterways and uninhabited islands
The day begins with private pickup from the visitor's chosen location in Motobu, Nago, or Nakijin districts. Once gathered, the group selects from among several activity options. Water-based options include sea kayaking around the Motobu peninsula, where snorkeling conditions depend on tide, weather, and sea state—guides adjust route and intensity according to group ability and preference. Paddlers may visit shallow lagoons with sand bottoms and coral growth, venture beyond the reef edge for deeper snorkeling, or alternatively paddle through mangrove waterways and navigate among uninhabited islands in the calmer inland sea. For land-based activities, jungle trekking through the Yanbaru region's dense foliage passes multiple small waterfalls and includes a stop for swimming at the base of a larger waterfall. Mountain hiking options range from shorter trails suited to mixed abilities to the four-hour moderate hike of Katsuu Mountain—the island's highest accessible peak—involving steep and rocky terrain sections with 360-degree vistas at the summit. Throughout the day, drinks and local snacks are provided. Guides are English-speaking, certified snorkel instructors. All kayaks, snorkel gear, reef boots, and safety equipment are included, as is insurance for all activities. The day concludes with private return to the original pickup location. Lunch is not included; visitors may choose local restaurant meals or hand-prepared bento boxes available separately.
