Okinawa's Royal Heritage: Shuri Castle, Sacred Sites & Coastal Ruins — 8 Hours

Private guided tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites from the Ryukyu Kingdom, including Shuri Castle, royal mausoleum, and choice of two distinct archaeological sites.

This eight-hour private tour traces the royal lineage and spiritual geography of Okinawa's former Ryukyu Kingdom through four UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The itinerary opens at Shuri Castle, the political and cultural center of the kingdom, then moves through the stone gate of Sonohyan Utaki at the castle grounds—a gate reserved historically for royal rituals. A small museum precedes a visit to Tamaudun Mausoleum, the burial site of Ryukyu royal families. The route then passes through Shikina Royal Garden, a walled landscape garden that once served the royal court. After lunch at a local restaurant serving Okinawan cuisine, the tour concludes at one of two options: Sefa Utaki, a sacred worship site on a hillside overlooking the coast, or Nakagusuku Castle Site, a strategic fortress ruin positioned for views across the island's eastern shore. A private guide and English map are included throughout; private transportation and meal costs are additional.
