Rajasthan & Taj Mahal: Delhi to Khajuraho Temples — 13 Days

Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Khajuraho—eight UNESCO World Heritage sites across 13 days

This itinerary moves across northern and central India, connecting the Mughal capitals of Delhi and Agra with the palaces and forts of Rajasthan's desert kingdoms, and concluding at the medieval temple complexes of Khajuraho. The route traces eight UNESCO World Heritage designations: the Red Fort and Qutub Minar in Delhi; Humayun's Tomb; Taj Mahal and Agra Fort; the astronomical instruments of Jantar Mantar in Jaipur; Fatehpur Sikri; and the temple groups of Khajuraho. Travel moves between destinations by air and overland transfer, with intermediate stops at lesser-known sites such as Ranakpur Jain Temple and the stepwells of Abhaneri. From Connaught Place, you board the metro for a 10-minute journey that transports you back three centuries to Chandni Chowk bazaar, where commerce continues much as it has for generations. Here, the rhythm of negotiation and street-level trade defines the atmosphere. Khari Baoli Spice Market is the day's centerpiece—a wholesale district where individual spices are traded in large sacks and carts rather than small packets. The scale of bulk commerce, the visual abundance of raw materials, and the constant price negotiations between vendors offer an authentic glimpse into Delhi's commercial traditions.
