South Korea: Seoul, Hanok Villages & Island — 10 Days
Seoul to Jeju via Jeonju and Busan, with overnight stays in traditional hanok and visits to Gamcheon, Haedong Yonggung Temple, and Seongsan Sunrise Peak.
This 10-day route moves through South Korea's most recognizable cultural landmarks and lesser-trafficked districts in sequence. Begin in Seoul with visits to HiKR Ground and Gwangjang Market, then take the train to Jeonju for an overnight stay in a traditional hanok house in the village's preserved quarter. The itinerary then shifts to the coast: Busan's clifftop Buddhist temple, its markets and cable car, and the pastel-painted houses of Gamcheon stacked on a mountainside. The final three days settle on Jeju Island, where the route includes a guided walk through Seongeup Folk Village, a hike to Seongsan Sunrise Peak, and a performance by haenyeo—traditional female divers who harvest seafood by breath-hold. 1Arrival in SeoulSeoul · Seoul's streets · a local Korean restaurant · Dream Guest House · Seoul's bar scene or karaoke
Arrive at any time in South Korea's capital and largest metropolis. With no planned activities until evening, you have the day free to visit Seoul independently at your own pace, whether that means wandering neighbourhoods, visiting museums, or simply adjusting to the city.
In the evening, meet your CEO and fellow travellers at the welcome meeting—your opportunity to learn more about the tour ahead and connect with your group. After the meeting, join an orientation walk through Seoul's streets to familiarize yourself with the city's layout and energy.
Dinner follows at a local Korean restaurant, where you'll share your first meal with the group and begin getting to know one another. The evening is yours to shape: those interested can opt to join your CEO and new friends for a First Night Out, exploring Seoul's bar scene or testing your singing voice at karaoke. Participation is entirely optional—if you prefer an early night, that's equally welcome.
Accommodation will be at Dream Guest House or similar.

2Seoul: K-pop, Markets & Street CultureHiKR Ground · Ikseon-Dong Alley · Gwangjang Market · N Seoul Tower · Gangnam District · Bongeunsa
Begin your morning at HiKR Ground, a five-story immersive space dedicated to Korean pop culture. The exhibition moves through K-pop performances, K-drama media, and contemporary art installations that capture what defines modern Korean culture. From there, head to Ikseon-Dong Alley, a narrow district where traditional hanok houses now sit alongside modern cafes, boutiques, and independent galleries. The architecture creates a distinctive atmosphere—each corner offers something to photograph and wander. Spend time drifting between local craft stores and quaint cafes, getting a sense of how Seoul blends heritage with contemporary life.
Lunch is yours to structure. Continue exploring Ikseon-Dong's cafes and shops, or move ahead to Gwangjang Market at your own pace. Once you arrive at Gwangjang Market, you're in one of Seoul's oldest and largest traditional markets, operating with over 5,000 vendors. The market sprawls across multiple sections: textiles and fabrics fill certain alleys, while other areas concentrate on handicrafts and local treasures. But Gwangjang is most renowned for its street food stalls—this is considered one of Seoul's best places for authentic Korean snacks and casual meals. Plan an hour to navigate the market, try local dishes, and absorb the energy of one of the city's most vital commercial and culinary spaces.
Your evening is unscheduled, leaving room to rest or pursue optional activities. If you want to visit N Seoul Tower, take the cable car up Mt. Namsan to the 480-meter observation deck—an additional fee applies for entry to the observatory. Alternatively, venture into Gangnam District, a historically rich neighborhood now defined by rapid development and constant activity. Gangnam Station itself is the city's busiest subway hub and contains an enormous underground shopping center. The district also hosts Bongeunsa, a Buddhist temple set in the neighborhood's center, and numerous restaurants and nightlife venues if you prefer to spend your evening in this area. Otherwise, simply rest at your accommodation and recharge for the days ahead.
3Seoul: A Day of Your Own DesignDemilitarized Zone (DMZ) · K-pop dance class · Gyengbokgung Palace · National Folklore Museum · Jogyesa Temple · Bukchon Hanok Village · Insadong Alley · Korean cooking class · Dream Guest House
Seoul is yours to wander at your own pace. With the city's efficient subway system and distinct neighborhoods, there's no bad way to spend your time here.

Or channel your inner pop star at a K-pop dance class, where professional instructors teach the latest choreography at various skill levels. Most classes culminate in a recording session—a special souvenir to take home.
Alternatively, join a guided Seoul City Tour by bus, visiting Gyengbokgung Palace, the National Folklore Museum, Jogyesa Temple, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong Alley. You might also try a Korean cooking class to learn the fundamentals of local delicacies, or simply wander neighborhoods that call to you.

4Train to Jeonju & Hanok Village OvernightJeonju · Jeonju Hanok Village · Jeonju Nambu Traditional Market · Hanok Village Craft Museum · local shop · traditional hanok house
Take the morning train to Jeonju, a city in the southwestern region known for its preserved traditional quarter and often called one of South Korea's prettiest cities. After checking into your hanok accommodation, your CEO leads a walking tour of Jeonju Hanok Village, pointing out key cultural landmarks including the Gyeonggijeon Shrine, Jeondong Catholic Church, Korean Liquor Museum, and Jeonju Handicraft Exhibition Hall. The stroll reveals the beautiful hanok streets and their distinctive traditional architecture, offering an immersive introduction to the area.
The afternoon and evening are yours to wander at your own pace. Wander through Jeonju Nambu Traditional Market to experience local commerce and daily life, or head to the Hanok Village Craft Museum to engage with Korean traditional craftsmanship firsthand. Here you can try your hand at hanji (traditional Korean paper-making), work at the pottery wheel to shape your own ceramic vessel, practice the meditative art of traditional calligraphy with brush and ink, or craft and paint your own decorative Korean fan—choosing from designs like flowers, birds, and landscapes.
If you prefer, visit a local shop to try on a hanbok, the lively traditional Korean dress, and have photographs taken in the picturesque hanok setting. The colorful, layered garments offer an authentic way to experience Korean cultural dress in its most fitting environment.
This evening, settle into the comforts of your traditional hanok house. Built with natural materials and historic architecture, the accommodation offers genuine insight into Korean history and culture—a stay that feels like stepping back in time. The experience of sleeping in a hanok is itself part of your journey through Korea's past, allowing you to absorb the aesthetic and spatial principles that have defined Korean domestic life for centuries.
5Busan: Gamcheon Culture Village & Coastal ExplorationGamcheon Culture Village · Jeonju to Busan · Nampodong · Haeundae Beach · APEC House · jjimjilbang
Travel by local bus from Jeonju to Busan, a 3-hour, 260-kilometer journey down to Korea's southern coast. Upon arrival, drop your luggage at your accommodation in Nampodong, the lively downtown district, then make your way to Gamcheon Culture Village. This artistic neighborhood clings to a mountainside, its narrow lanes lined with pastel-colored houses, hand-painted murals, small cafes, and independent galleries. The village draws photographers and art lovers alike, offering endless opportunities to wander and see. Spend the late afternoon and early evening exploring the village's atmospheric streets before returning to downtown Busan for the night.
If you prefer a more active evening, two optional activities await. Haeundae Beach is one of Korea's most celebrated stretches of sand—ideal for an evening walk along the shore or a swim, depending on season. Adjacent Dongbaek Island features the APEC House, a distinctive structure built to host the 2005 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. Alternatively, experience a traditional Korean jjimjilbang (spa bath house), where you can soak in hot-spring tubs and rejuvenate after your travel day.
6Busan: Temples, Cable Car & MarketsHaedong Yonggungsa Temple · Songdo Maritime Cable Car · Jagalchi Fish Market · Gukje Traditional Market
Start your day at Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, a striking Buddhist complex built in 1376 and perched on cliffs overlooking the East China Sea. The temple's seaside setting is singular in Korea—legend holds that prayers offered here will grant at least one wish. From the temple, make your way to the Songdo Maritime Cable Car for a one-mile gondola ride up to Songdo Sky Park. The observatory deck provides sweeping views across Busan's coastline and harbor.
In the afternoon, head to Jagalchi Fish Market at Nampo Port, where fishmongers sell fresh seafood from countless stalls. This is where locals come to haggle for the best catch; watching the negotiation unfold offers genuine insight into daily Busan life. Nearby, visit Gukje Traditional Market, set close to BIFF Square (named after the Busan International Film Festival). The market's roots trace back to the Korean War, when it served as a refuge for displaced people seeking livelihood. Today it's a lively bazaar offering food, home goods, clothing, and souvenirs alongside the history.
The remainder of your day is unscheduled, leaving space to rest or wander at your own pace before tomorrow's transfer to the beach.
If you want more activity, two options stand out: Skyline Luge lets you control a kart down a mountaintop track with ocean views—you can ride multiple courses and even try the adjacent zipline or scenic chairlift. Alternatively, Taejongdae Zip Line offers a more intense rush: soar 653 meters above Gamji Beach on one of several thrilling lines suspended over the water.
7Flight to Jeju & Dongmun MarketDongmun Market · Busan · downtown Jeju City · Busan to Jeju
After a free morning in Busan, fly south to Jeju, the subtropical island off Korea's southern tip. Settle into your accommodation in downtown Jeju City, where you'll stay for the next three nights. This evening, join your CEO at Dongmun Market, one of Jeju's most lively traditional markets. The market pulses with energy after dark—neon signs illuminate food stalls, vendors call out their wares, and the air fills with the aroma of grilling black pork, a local specialty. Sample hallabong, Jeju's famous tangerines, and wash them down with fresh orange juice. Keep an eye out for the Red Lobster Fire Dance Show, a street performance that appears among the stalls. The market offers a genuine slice of local culture and flavour; wandering its lanes unguided lets you see what catches your interest. The rest of the evening is yours to wander further or rest after your journey.
8Jeju: Folk Village, Sunrise Peak & Haenyeo DiversSeongeup Folk Village · Seongsan Sunrise Peak (Seongsan Ilchulbong) · Hamdeok Beach · Olle Trail · downtown Jeju · haenyeo performance venue
Today unfolds as a deep immersion into Jeju's cultural landscape, beginning with the tangible past and ending with living tradition.
Start with a guided tour of Seongeup Folk Village, a living museum that preserves the domestic life of old Jeju. Walk through traditional homes built with volcanic stone, observe harubang—the well-known stone statues that dot the island—and examine lava walls that shaped settlement patterns for centuries. The village offers an unfiltered view of how Jeju residents organized their homes, worked their land, and structured daily life before modernization.
From there, make your way to Seongsan Sunrise Peak (Seongsan Ilchulbong), a UNESCO World Heritage Site that rises dramatically from the coastal plain. The hike covers 1–2 kilometers on a well-maintained trail suitable for all fitness levels. As you ascend the volcanic pathways, you'll learn that this peak formed roughly 5,000 years ago during an underwater volcanic eruption—a geological event that created one of Jeju's most distinctive landmarks. The views from the summit extend across the island's volcanic terrain and out toward the sea, making the modest effort entirely worthwhile.
In the afternoon, transition to Hamdeok Beach. Here you have flexibility: spend time on the white sand and in the turquoise water, or take a shorter walk along the Olle Trail, the famous 437-kilometer loop hiking network that circumnavigates Jeju's perimeter. The Olle sections are well-marked and offer coastal perspectives that complement the morning's interior exploration.
As evening approaches, gather for the haenyeo performance—arguably the day's centerpiece. Haenyeo are Jeju's female divers, a tradition spanning centuries. Watch these women, some well into their 80s, descend into the sea and hold their breath for extended periods while harvesting abalone, conch, sea cucumbers, and other seafood. Their technique is both meditative and physically demanding, elegant through generations. After the performance concludes, you'll have time to interact directly with the divers—ask questions, observe their catch up close, and if inclined, purchase fresh seafood directly from them.
Finally, your guide will lead the group into downtown Jeju for the evening. This is your Big Night Out—a chance to celebrate with new friends and reflect on the day's experiences. Karaoke venues dot the area; local beer and fresh juice are both excellent options. Participation is entirely optional: some may prefer quieter reflection at a café or early rest before the next day's adventures. Either way, the evening belongs to the group to share as you wish.
9Jeju Island: Your Choice of ExplorationGeumneung Beach · Hyeopjae Beach · Olle Trail · Seongsan Ilchulbong · Darangshi Oreum · Bunker des Lumières · Jeju City
This full day is yours to spend however you wish, with plenty of compelling options across the island. Whether you prefer active adventure, cultural immersion, or simple relaxation, Jeju offers something for every traveler.
Beach lovers should consider Geumneung Beach or Hyeopjae Beach, both offering peaceful settings to unwind and take in the island's coastline. If you're seeking more active pursuits, the Olle Trail presents an excellent opportunity. This 437 km loop circumnavigates the island's edge, featuring nature walks, cultural sites, waterfalls, and spectacular coastal views. Routes 6 and 7 are among the most popular sections. Your CEO can advise on logistics for reaching trailheads and can help you plan either a half-day or full-day hike suited to your fitness level.
For those interested in volcanic geology, the oreums—small dormant volcanic cones scattered across Jeju—offer accessible hiking with rewarding rewards. Seongsan Ilchulbong and Darangshi Oreum are particularly popular, with trails ranging from easy to moderate difficulty. The hikes showcase lush vegetation and diverse wildlife while providing commanding views across the island's landscape.
Culturally minded visitors should visit Bunker des Lumières, an immersive art exhibition housed in a former bunker in Jeju-si. The space uses advanced projection technology to display famous artworks across the bunker's interior walls, creating a mesmerizing experience as lively, moving images of masterpieces surround you as you walk through. The exhibition rotates its themes regularly, offering fresh perspectives with each visit.
Alternatively, you might spend time exploring Jeju City itself, wandering its neighborhoods and discovering local cafes, shops, and street-level culture at your own pace.
Your CEO has additional suggestions and can help with transportation logistics to reach various sections of the island, whether you're heading to a specific trailhead, beach, or attraction. The key is to take the day at your own rhythm and experience Jeju in whatever way appeals to you most.
