This trip divides into three distinct zones: four days at Passikudah on the east coast, where reef snorkeling and beach time anchor the opening section; three days at Wilpattu National Park in the dry zone, based at a camp near the park's natural lakes; and a final night on the west coast near Negombo before departure. The Wilpattu portion centers on game drives through dry-zone jungle habitat where Sri Lankan elephants, leopards, sloth bears, and spotted deer move between the park's signature villus—natural freshwater lakes that concentrate resident and migratory waterbirds. Transfers between zones occur across the eight days. Accommodation ranges from a beachfront hotel to safari tents to a lagoon-view resort, with meals included at the camp and on bed-and-breakfast basis elsewhere.

Arrival at Colombo International Airport and transfer via air-conditioned vehicle to Passikudah on the east coast, approximately six hours' drive. Check-in at Uga Bay hotel, a beachfront property positioned on the coastal shelf. Evening settling-in and first views of the eastern littoral.

The hotel sits a few dozen steps from living coral reef, accessible to snorkelers directly from the beach. The reef itself holds trevally jack and grouper, and remains popular with reef fishers. A short distance offshore, World War II wreck sites attract scuba divers. The hotel rents jet skis for visitors seeking water-based activity, and the beach and pool area accommodate those preferring to remain on sand or loungers throughout the day. Overnight at Uga Bay.

Transfer from Passikudah to Wilpattu National Park, approximately two hours' drive inland into the dry zone. Arrival at the park entrance around midday and drive to safari camp near the park's boundary. Wilpattu covers dry-zone jungle habitat punctuated by approximately 30 natural lakes called villus, most fed by seasonal rainfall and critical to resident and migratory waterbird populations. The park's 30 species of mammals include Sri Lankan elephant, leopard, sloth bear, spotted deer, buffalo, sambar, and mongoose. Birdlife encompasses wetland species such as garganey, pintail, whistling teal, spoonbill, white ibis, large white egret, cattle egret, and purple heron, alongside gulls, terns, owls, kites, and eagles. Endemic species present include the Sri Lankan jungle fowl, little cormorant, and painted stork. Lunch at camp, followed by an evening game drive through the park. Overnight in a premium tent at the safari camp on an all-inclusive basis.
