Sri Lanka: Beach, Lagoon & Safari — 10 Days

Trincomalee's coral reefs and Wilpattu National Park wildlife, with a Negombo coastal finish

This ten-day itinerary balances coastal relaxation with inland wildlife viewing across three distinct regions of Sri Lanka. The route begins in Trincomalee, on the eastern coast, where a resort stay provides a base for reef exploration around Pigeon Island. A transfer inland to Wilpattu National Park — Sri Lanka's largest wildlife reserve — follows, with two nights spent in tented accommodation and early-morning and evening game drives. The park's dry-zone jungle is home to Sri Lankan elephants, leopards, sloth bears, and many bird species including gulls, terns, owls, kites, and eagles. The tour concludes in Negombo, a fishing town west of Colombo, before airport departure. Throughout, transfers are by private vehicle with English-speaking driver.

  • Early-morning and evening game drives in Wilpattu National Park for Sri Lankan elephants, leopards, and endemic Jungle fowl
