Tokyo by Bicycle: Nihombashi to Imperial Palace — Half Day

A 6-hour guided cycle through central Tokyo's historic districts, from the Edo-period merchant quarter to Sensoji Temple and the Imperial Palace grounds.

This half-day cycling route traces the cultural and commercial spine of Tokyo's northeast core, beginning in the Chuo ward and moving through neighborhoods that have anchored the city for centuries. The itinerary passes the Nihombashi bridge—a historic crossing in a traditional shopping district—and the narrow streets of Ningyo-cho, an old merchant quarter, before reaching Ryogoku, historically the home of professional sumo wrestlers. The route then proceeds to Sensoji, Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple, situated in Asakusa, followed by a passage through Ueno Park and the University of Tokyo campus in Hongo. The cycle concludes at the Imperial Palace grounds. The entire route is completed on rental bicycles, with a guide, lunch, water, and helmet provided.
